In keeping Queensborough citizens up to date on events in the neighborhood, ONR (Operation Neighborhood Reinforcement,) is still in progress to build this organization up to the place of deployment in our communities. They are now registered as a 211 provider in NWLA. Queensborough Neighborhood Association has partnered with Humanity 2020 Group, https://humanity2020group.org/ to no only say we want to secure our neighbors and their futures but also show you that we mean business about our efforts to be there when needed. This organization is committed in decreasing police involved killings as they provide the highest lever of research and development to support our alternative to police deadly force.
The brain child of Humanity 2020 Group is Operation Neighborhood Reinforcement, they are dedicated to setting up Community First Responders to mediate in minor issues in our neighborhood such as mental health issues, misunderstandings in the community, and cleaning up the neighborhood from property standards to minor crimes. It's basically like your neighborhood watches but on the next level with dedication to see residents be whole people on every area and aspect needed to achieve this goal.
I have been out in the neighborhood conducting surveys with ONR for a few weeks now to become more personal with my neighbors and to not only watch the progress but getting out in the field to be sure it gets done. Queensborough was chosen to be the first neighborhood to experience this organizations work and they are working diligently to obtain the necessary funding to help better our and other communities that have high crime and economic disparities.
